Biographical Information[edit]
William Kershaw was a minor league pitcher who played for 3 teams in 1897 and 1899. He played for the London Cockneys of the Canadian League, under the management of A.D. Holman and won 10 games and lost 8. In 1899 he played with the Class-A Toronto Maple Leafs of the Eastern League and won 2 games and lost 4 during his time with them. He was let go by the team and caught on with the Taunton Herrings of the New England League, where he had no wins and 1 loss after appearing in a single game for them. During his time in Taunton, he was a teammate of future Hall of Famer Christy Mathewson.
