Biographical Information

The Cincinnati Reds had a fine lefty-righty bullpen tandem in 1975 with Will McEnaney and Rawly Eastwick. McEnaney was never as effective again, though; after one more season with the Reds, 1976, when they repeated as World Series champions, he was traded to the Montreal Expos along with Tony Perez before the 1977 season and began suffering from personal problems. He then went to the Pittsburgh Pirates (spending most of 1978 in the minors) and finished his big-league career with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1979.

Will continued in the minors in 1980, spent 1981 with the Plataneros de Tabasco in the Mexican League as a starting pitcher, and made comeback attempts in the U.S. minors in 1982 and 1985. In 1989, McEnaney played for the West Palm Beach Tropics of the Senior Professional Baseball Association.

Notable Achievements

• Won two World Series with the Cincinnati Reds (1975 & 1976)
