Western Washington was known as New Whatcom Normal School until 1937, Western Washington College of Education until 1961, and Western Washington State College until 1977. The school sponsored baseball from 1913 until 1936 and 1947-1981. The team was in the Evergreen Conference for many years. The school competes in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in other sports.
