Biographical Information[edit]

Wei-Ming Chu played in the CPBL for 5 years.

Chu was drafted by the Brother Elephants in the fifth round of the 2008 CPBL Draft], and he hit .291/.322/.323 with a league-leading 27 steals in 2009. Since the Elephants lost many players in a game-fixing scandal, Chu got many chances in 2010. However, he hit .224/.248/.263 in 68 games, so he only got 11 games with the big club in 2011. Although Chu led the minor league with 41 RBI and his batting line was a solid .328/.355/.450 in 2012, he still couldn't get a single at-bat with the big club. He had a .251/.279/.329 batting line in 52 games in the minors in 2013, then he announced his retirement. Chu was the strength and conditioning coach of the Brothers from 2015 to 2018, and he coached the Fubon Guardians in the same role from 2019 to 2022.

Overall, Chu had hit .220/.243/.256 with 36 hits in 5 seasons in the CPBL.
