Biographical Information[edit]

Wayne Edwards was signed as a 10th round pick in the 1985 amateur draft by the Chicago White Sox and scout Duane Shaffer. He pitched in one full season, and parts of 2 others with the White Sox. He put up above average numbers in his career, giving up 110 hits in 125 and 2/3 innings with an ERA of 3.37 which translates to a 115 ERA+. His major league career ended early in 1991 at the age of 27 but he resurfaced in the minors, pitching for the 1995/1996 Bakersfield Blaze, a co-op team in the California League.

Edwards formed a band called V.I.E.W. with Chicago White Sox teammate Jack McDowell. Edwards played drums. His father, also a musician, was a member of the 1960s beach-style band, "The Hondels".
