Biographical Information[edit]
Wataru Nishimura played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 8 years.
Nishimura was drafted by the Rakuten Golden Eagles in the 5th round of the 2005 NPB draft, and he went 8-for-63 in 2006. He spent the next 3 seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues, and he had a .214/.267/.286 batting line in 2010. Nishimura went 3-for-23 2011, and he played 82 games with a .289/.317/.474 batting line in 2012. He only got 13 at-bats combined in the next two seasons, and he announced his retirement in 2015. He was the fielding coach for the Rakuten Monkeys in 2022 and for the minor league team of the Golden Eagles in 2023.
Overall, Nishimura hit .188/.218/.249 with 37 hits in 8 seasons in NPB.
