Biographical Information[edit]
Walter Queisser played in the minors from 1905 to 1912, peaking at A-Class (then the second-highest after AA) with the 1909 Memphis Turtles where he pitched a .222 season (6-21). He was 22-16 between the Guthrie Senators and Leavenworth Orioles in 1905, hitting .198. He tied for third in the Western Association in wins, behind Hank Gehring and Bob Groom. He batted .296/?/.360 as a P-IF for the 1906 Leavenworth Old Soldiers and the Wichita Jobbers while going 10-13. He fielded .860 at shortstop when not pitching. Had he qualified, he would have made the WA top 10 in average. He hit .212 for the 1907 Joplin Miners and .241 for Joplin in '08. In 1909, he was 6-21 for Memphis, leading the Southern Association in losses, one more than Jim Buchanan. In 1910, he went 13-13 and batted .141 for the Rock Island Islanders. He hit .242 for the 1911 Islanders then was 3-4 for the 1912 Danville Speakers.
