Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Walter Gibbons played in the Negro Leagues for the Newark Eagles and Indianapolis Clowns (1948-1949). In addition, he played for numerous semi-professional, independent and minor Negro league teams. In 1950 and from 1953 to 1957, for example, he played in the Mandak League.
He is the brother of John Gibbons, who also played in the Negro Leagues, a few years earlier.
He also served in the Korean War.
