Biographical Information[edit]

Victor Barnett played in Panama, the US and Venezuela.

Barnett was on the Panamanian national team that won Silver at the 1938 Central American and Caribbean Games. [1] He hit .234/.306/.325 for the Newark Eagles in 1944, starting in right field. [2] In 1946-1947, he played for the Sabios de Vargas in Venezuela, batting .297/?/.405 in 9 regular-season games and .214/?/.429 in four postseason ones as the team won the Venezuelan League title. [3]

He was with Chesterfield in Panama in 1947-1948 and Spur Cola in Panama from 1948-1954. [4] He was a starting outfield for Spur Cola in the first Caribbean Series, going 4 for 15 with a triple, 3 runs, 3 RBI and a steal in the 1949 Caribbean Series as an outfield mate of Lester Lockett and Red Treadway. Only Sam Bankhead had more RBI for Panama. [5] He was 0 for 3 for Spur Cola in the 1951 Caribbean Series. [6]
