Vicksburg, MS

Vicksburg is located in western Mississippi, on the left bank of the Mississippi River, 30 miles west of Jackson, MS. It was the site of a major Civil War battle in 1863 won by General (later President) Ulysses S. Grant after a siege of forty days.
