Veracruz League
(Redirected from Vera Cruz State League)
The Veracruz League, technically known as the Liga Invernal Veracruzana de Béisbol Profesional "Beto Ávila", was a winter league founded in 2005. All teams were located in the Mexican state Veracruz. A league of the same name existed in the 1940s-1960s; Bobby Avila began his playing career with them. It was Mexico's secondary winter loop, as the Mexican Pacific League is a much higher circuit. League champions qualifed for the Latin American Series. An earlier version of the league ran from 1952-1953 to 1962-1963.
