Biographical Information[edit]
Vaughn Berriman was with the Boksburg Cardinals when he was picked for the South African squad in the 2000 Olympics. He allowed one hit in nine at-bats and tossed a 2 2/3 shutout innings as South Africa's ace (the staff ERA was 9.55). He had pitched in the 1999 All Africa Games as well, striking out 12 and allowing two walks and one hit (by Paul Kazibwe) before Shadley Sasman closed out the win over last-place Uganda. He led South Africa in whiffs. He was 0-1 with a 1.08 ERA in the 2002 Haarlem Baseball Week as three of the four runs he allowed were unearned.
