Biographical Information[edit]

Shadley Sasman pitched for South Africa in the 1999 World Junior Championship. The same year, he debuted for the senior South African national team that won Gold at the 1999 All Africa Games. Relieving Vaughn Berriman with a 29-0 lead in the bottom of the 6th against Uganda, he tossed two shutout innings (no hits, one walk, two whiffs) to close out a mercy rule win.

In the 2007 Baseball World Cup, he led South Africa with three games pitched, posting a 5.79 ERA. He allowed one run in 1/3 of an inning against Taiwan. He relieved Matthew Dancer with a 8-0 deficit in the 7th versus Italy and threw three perfect innings, fanning three. Finally, he gave up two runs in 1 1/3 innings against Panama.

He also pitched for South Africa in the 2008 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament, allowing three walks and two runs in 1/3 of an inning against Team Canada.
