Your discovery makes perfect sense. There was a phase in the late 1970s and early 80s when pitcher with a torn rotator cuff would undergo surgery, but it never worked out. The surgery introduced some stiffness in the shoulder that meant the pitchers could never throw as well after the surgery as they had before, even if the pain was gone. That injury is still one that can't really be treated, I believe. By the way, the changes I made to your paragraph were simply cosmetic. Philippe (talk) 17:23, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
