Ukraine

Ukraine is a country in Eastern Europe and was part of the Soviet Union for a time. Three major leaguers were born in the Ukraine, all of them Jewish - Bill Cristall, Reuben Ewing and Izzy Goldstein. Ed Gottlieb, a major figure in the Negro Leagues, was also born here. Jake Eliopoulos and Maksym Symchyna were also born here.
