Biographical Information[edit]

Maksym Symchyna starred for the Ukrainian national team in the 2008 European Championship Qualifiers, going 5 for 11 with a walk, double, five steals (never caught) and six runs as the Ukraine won a spot in the 2010 European Championship. Symchyna finished second in the Trnava qualifiers in steals and tied Andriy Kubalskyy for third in runs. Symchyna was with the Ukraine for the 2010 Euros, going 1 for 12 with two walks as a catcher, second baseman and DH. His hit came off the Czech Republic's Martin Schneider.
