Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Tyrone Horne was named the Texas League Player of the Year in 1998, when he hit .312 with a league-best 37 homers and 139 RBI for the Arkansas Travelers. During a game against the San Antonio Missions on July 27th of that season, he hit a "home run cycle" which consists of four home runs: one solo, one two-run, one three-run and one grand slam. He became the first player in professional baseball history to accomplish that feat, a feat that was only matched more than three decades later when Chandler Redmond did it on August 10, 2022, also as a member of the AA affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals in the Texas League, the Springfield Cardinals.
Despite his minor league accomplishments, Horne never reached the majors and only briefly played as high as AAA. He was inducted into the Texas League Hall of Fame in 2007.
