Biographical Information

Ty Hawkins has coached in the minors for over a decade.

Undrafted out of college, Hawkins signed with the Chicago Cubs. He split 1991, his lone pro season, between the Erie Sailors (.212/.288/.318) and South Bend Silver Hawks (.217/.312/.276). Overall, he fielded .897 in 51 outfield games. He later coached at Vanderbilt University and the University of Illinois before becoming a minor league coach. He was scheduled to be hitting coach for the Jupiter Hammerheads in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to Covid-19.
