Ty Harrington

Ty Harrington was a college coach.
An infielder in college, Harrington went to the 1984 College World Series, 1985 College World Series and 1987 College World Series; he was a teammate of Greg Swindell as well as several other future big leaguers. From 1988-1991, he was graduate assistant coach at Texas.
Harrington was assistant coach at Arkansas State University from 1992-1994. In 1995, he became head coach at Northeast Texas Community College. They won the National Junior College Championship in 1996 and was named NJC Coach of the Year. He was 165-67 in four seasons at the school. In 1999, he was head coach at Blinn Junior College, going 36-22.
In 2000, Ty was promoted to head coach at Texas State University - San Marcos. He was 657-516-2 in 20 years there, setting a school record for wins. He has taken the Southland Conference Tournament title in 1997, 1999 and 2000. His former teammate Swindell served as his assistant coach one year.
