Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Trey Cochran-Gill was a 14th round selection by the Seattle Mariners in the 2014 amateur draft, out of Auburn University. The scout was Dustin Evans. He began his pro career that year with the Pulaski Mariners of the Appalachian League and also pitched with the Everett AquaSox of the Northwest League that season. He was a combined 5-0 o,25 in 25 games in relief, giving up a single earned run in 36 innings while striking out 44 batters. He also recorded 12 saves. After that excellent debut, he began 2015 with the Bakersfield Blaze of the California League, and would pitch in AA with the Jackson Generals and AAA with the Tacoma Rainiers before the year was out. He combined for a mark of 6-5, 4.18 in 45 games with 6 saves and 51 K's in 75 1/3 innings. His ERA was an excellent 1.37 at Bakersfield, but he found the going rougher in the Southern League, where it jumped to 5.43.

On December 8, 2015, he was traded to the Oakland Athletics in return for major league reliever Evan Scribner.
