Biographical Information[edit]
Toshiyuki Kitagawa has played in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.
Kitagawa represented Japan in the 2002 Asian Games. In the 2002 Intercontinental Cup, he batted .235/.263/.471 with 8 RBI in 5 games for Japan, fielding .889 at 2B (which he split with Hirokazu Ibata). The Yokohama BayStars drafted him in the sixth round of the 2002 NPB draft. Kitagawa spent his nearly entire career in the NPB Farm Leagues, only had 53 appearances with the big club. He announced his retirement after staying in the ni-gun for the entire 2010 season.
Overall, Kitagawa had hit .207/.235/.280 in 6 seasons in NPB.
