Biographical Information[edit]
Toru Nishida has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Nishida was on the Japanese national team in the 1965 Asian Championship as the country won its fourth title.[1] The Chunichi Dragons drafted him in the third round of the 1969 NPB draft.[2] Nishida didn't had many chances in his five-year career, as he only played 165 games, and the 1974 season's 51 at-bats was the most at-bats he got in his career. He appeared in the 1974 Nippon Series, but went 0-for-2 in Game 1, then watched the Lotte Orions beat the Dragons in 6 games on the bench. He announced his retirement after that season.[3]
Overall, Nishida had hit .206/.259/.302 in 5 seasons in NPB.
