Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Tony Wolters was a third round draft pick in the 2010 amateur draft, and was rated the #8 prospect in the Cleveland Indians system in 2011 and #7 in 2012 by Baseball America. In his second season, 2011, the then-shortstop stole 19 bases, while slashing .292/.385/.363. The average and on-base percentage would prove anomalous, as the next year his line was .260/.320/.404 and his career slash line through 2015 was .258/.335/.349. The Colorado Rockies claimed him off waivers nevertheless, and he made the jump from Double-A to the majors for the club in 2016.
Wolters went into coaching as bench coach of the ACL Rockies in 2024.
