Biographical Information[edit]

Tony Robichaux graduated college in 1986, served as a graduate assistant at McNeese State University, and became head coach in 1988. He served as head coach from 1988 to 1994, and was the head coach at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette from 1995-2019.

Robichaux won his 500th game in 2002, only the 8th head coach to do so before his 41st birthday. He won his 600th game in 2005.

Robichaux suffered a heart attack on June 23, 2019 and underwent open-heart surgery the next day. He was listed in critical condition after another procedure a few days later. He died on July 3.

Robichaux's sons, Austin Robichaux and Justin Robichaux played for Tony at Louisiana Lafayette and in the minor leagues.
