Tony Cappola was an All-American.
Cappola hit .416 with 16 homers and 70 RBI as a college senior, setting the school RBI record. He set Montevallo career records for average (.383), hits (300), doubles (59) and total bases (482). He was named the NCAA Division II All-American third baseman in 2000. Undrafted, he signed with the Anaheim Angels. With the '00 Boise Hawks, he was 7 for 33 with two doubles, 3 walks, 4 runs and 4 RBI, while fielding only .792 at 3B and appearing in two games (3 chances, 0 errors) at 2B.
