Biographical Information

Tomohisa Otani pitched for Toyota in the Japanese industrial leagues. His fastball peaks around 87 mph. Otani was with Japan for the 2009 Baseball World Cup. He was then picked by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the 2nd round of the 2009 NPB draft. He debuted in the Pacific League on April 23, 2010 with 1 1/3 shutout innings of relief against the Softbank Hawks.
