Biographical Information[edit]
Tommy Hawkins was a Los Angeles Dodgers executive.
Hawkins was the 3rd pick of the 1959 NBA draft and played ten seasons in the NBA, averaging 8.7 points per game and 6 rebounds per game. After basketball, he was a broadcaster for 20 years, including being sports director for the Dodgers' flagship station. He was hired by the Dodgers as their vice president for communication, shortly after the Al Campanis incident; Hawkins told the team he did not want to be window-dressing as they tried to clear their names after Campanis, instead taking on a substantive role.
