Tomas de la Rosa played three seasons in the majors, compiling a major league average of .289. In the minors, he played 12 seasons, garnering over 1,000 hits and stealing over 150 bases.
He last played for the Triple A Fresno Grizzlies in 2007, hitting .288.
De la Rosa hit .243/.318/.397 in 93 games for the Chunichi Dragons in 2008, serving as a backup infielder behind Masahiro Araki (2B), Hirokazu Ibata (SS) and Norihiro Nakamura (3B).
