The brother of Terry Steinbach, Tom Steinbach was picked in the same draft as Terry. He was taken in the 19th round of the 1983 amateur draft by the Seattle Mariners. He hit .166/.288/.288 in 48 games for the Bellingham Mariners and fielded .940 in the outfield; his brother hit almost 150 points higher in the same league. Oddly enough, another Tom Steinbach was also picked in the 1983 draft, 8 rounds after this Tom.
Steinbach had won Bronze with Team USA in the 1982 Amateur World Series.
