Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Tom Hartley was the 26th overall pick in the 1984 amateur draft, taken by the Chicago White Sox one pick after pitcher John Hoover and one pick ahead of shortstop Gary Green. He played in the minor leagues from 1984 to 1986.

With the GCL White Sox in 1984, Hartley batted .250/.326/.309 with 12 stolen bases in 59 games. He hit .213/.307/.259 with 11 swipes in 62 games for the Niagara Falls Sox in 1985 and in 1986, he hit .174/.273/.250 with only eight RBI in 132 at-bats for the Appleton Foxes.

Overall, he hit .218/.306/.276 with two home runs, 40 RBI, 64 runs scored, 25 steals, 64 walks and 139 strikeouts in 162 games.
