Biographical Information[edit]
John Hoover won a Silver Medal for Team USA in the 1983 Intercontinental Cup, a Bronze in the 1983 Pan American Games (with a 0.00 ERA) and also played in the 1984 Olympics. He was the last member of that US Olympic team to make the majors (a couple of guys never made it), with the Texas Rangers for a pair of games in 1990.
He died of natural causes in 2014. He was 51.
