Biographical Information[edit]

Tomáš Cása played in the Czech Extraliga and Dutch Hoofdklasse and for the Czech national team.

He was 2-for-11 with a walk, run and a RBI for the 2002 Eagles Praha in his debut. [1] At age 18, he was 4-for-8 with two doubles, a walk, two runs and three RBI. [2] He followed with a .330/.383/.402 line in 2004 and .260/.347/.378 in 2005 (with 30 RBI in 35 games). He tied Pavel Budský for 3rd with 3 homers in '05. [3] In the 2005 European Championship, he was 3 for 8 as a backup outfielder behind Martin Veselý, Tomáš Ovesný and Karel Hrušovský. [4]

Cása hit .339/.375/.373 in 2006 (finishing 9th in average) and .313/.414/.482 in 2007. In '07, he was 10th in slugging (between Martin Střítecký and Budský) and tied for second in triples (3, one behind Jakub Malík). [5] Going to the Netherlands, he was a backup outfielder for the MediaMonks RCH in 2008, batting .311/.380/.444. He had the team's best OPS, 3 points ahead of fellow Czech import Malík. He slipped to .204/.204/.245 in 13 games for RCH in 2009 and returned to the Eagles, hitting .324/.477/.441 in 10 games back in the Czech Republic. His final season, 2010, he hit .242/.270/.333 in a part-time role.
