Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Karel Hrušovský has represented the Czech Republic in several international events. In the 2002 World University Championship, he was the Czech center fielder and was 1 for 16 with a walk and 7 strikeouts. He hit .230/.377/.340 with 23 walks in 28 games and 9 steals in 9 tries for the 2003 Draci Brno club. He was second in the Extraliga in walks. He was 1 for 17 with a walk in the 2003 European Championship. For Draci Brno in 2004, Karel batted .250/.367/.303. The next year, he produced at a .252/.344/.315 clip. He hit .143/.308/.143 with four runs in eight games in the 2005 European Championship. In the 2005 Baseball World Cup, he hit .158/.158/.263 while manning right field for the Czech Republic in their first Baseball World Cup appearance.

In 2006, Hrušovský hit .288/.357/.369 for Draci Brno and was second in the league with 25 RBI, trailing only former minor leaguer Pavel Budský. He slumped to .221/.391/.257 in 2007. In the 2007 European Championship, Karel batted .250/.308/.250. For Draci Brno during 2008, he improved to a batting line of .297/.402/.308.

Hrušovský was 0 for 17 with 7 strikeouts and a walk in the 2008 World University Championship. He went one for 12 in the 2008 European Cup in Regensburg. During the 2009 European Cup's Matino phase, KArel was the top Draci Brno hitter, going 3 for 10 with a homer (off Homer Baez).
