Dr. Timothy Kremchek is one of Major League Baseball's top experts on Tommy John surgery. Kremchek graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1986. He was hired by the Cincinnati Reds in 1996 as a medical director. He has held this position for over 25 years. As of 2022, he has performed more than 2,500 Tommy John surgeries, including those of Mike Clevinger and Chris Bassitt. He also performed what was titled the "Junior Operation", in which he inserted 3 titanium screws into Ken Griffey Jr.'s hamstring to reattach it to the bone. People call him the "Tom Brady" of the sports medicine world.
