Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Tim Wheeler was selected by the Colorado Rockies as the final pick of the first round proper in the 2009 amateur draft, with the 32nd overall pick, the highest pick ever for a player from Sac State. He was signed by scout Gary Wilson and made his pro debut that summer with the Tri-City Dust Devils, hitting .256 with 5 home runs. The next year, he hit .249 with 12 homers for the Modesto Nuts. He began the 2011 campaign with the AA Tulsa Drillers.

Wheeler became an assistant coach at his alma mater in 2017-2019.
