Biographical Information[edit]
Tim Manning played in the majors from 1882-85, mostly at second base. He also played in the minors at least through age 37. Manning was 28 by the time he came to the majors.
It was reported that he once owned the Kansas City team, a team for whom he played during part of 1887. As of 1909 he was in business in Chicago.
He was one of three players born in England who made their major league debut in 1882, although there were none in 1880-81 or in 1883. He was also the second major leaguer with the last name Manning, with Jack Manning (whom he does not appear to be related to) making his debut in 1873 and Jim Manning coming along in 1884.
