Biographical Information[edit]

Thomas Stone pitched in the minor leagues from 1950 to 1952. With the Headland Dixie Runners in 1950, he went 19-13 with a 3.09 ERA in 40 games; in 233 innings, he allowed just 183 hits, but walked 177 batters to give him a 1.549 WHIP. He led the Alabama State League with 246 strikeouts. Back with Headland in 1951, he went 22-9 in 33 games; in 247 innings, he had 231 Ks and allowed 205 hits, but he walked 151 batters to give him a WHIP of 1.441. He was taken by the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in the A selection round of the 1951 Rule V Draft, though his record suggests he never pitched for them. He finished his career in 1952, pitching for the Waterloo White Hawks, going 4-3 with a 4.65 mark in 13 games. His WHIP was 1.717.

Overall, Stone went 45-25 in 86 games over three seasons. In 540 innings, he allowed 446 hits and 374 walks for a 1.519 WHIP; he averaged 6.2 BB/9 IP.
