Biographical Information

Thanh Tran has played for the Swiss national team.

He was 2-for-2 with a triple, steal, three walks, three runs and three RBI in the 2021 European Championship Qualifier, backing up Rafael Eigenmann at catcher. In the 2022 European Championship Qualifier, he was 2-for-3 with a steal, run and a RBI as the Swiss won a spot in the 2023 European Championship, their first European Championship.

During the '23 Euros, the Wil Devils player debuted as a pinch-runner for Joshua Crouse against Israel. After another pinch-running stint, he got his lone plate appearances versus Italy, replacing Nicholas Fischer at catcher during a 12-3 loss. He drew a walk from Mattia Aldegheri and struck out facing Nicolo Pinazzi. He had four putouts and allowed one steal.
