Biographical Information[edit]
Although Terry Leach was mostly a reliever in his career, he did have a one-hitter and two-hitter in his career as a starter. The one-hitter was on October 1, 1982 as a member of the New York Mets against the Philadelphia Phillies. Leach pitched 10 innings, walking 6 and striking out 7. The lone hit was a triple by Luis Aguayo. On July 2, 1987, Leach pitched a two-hitter for the Mets against the Cincinnati Reds. The only two hits in that game were singles by Bo Díaz and Ron Oester.
He is the author of the book Things Happen for a Reason: The True Story of an Itinerant Life in Baseball (ISBN 1583940502).
