Tereza Švingrová
- Bats Left, Throws Right
Biographical Information[edit]
Tereza Švingrová was on the first Czech women's national baseball team, at the 2019 European Women's Championship. In their debut game, she relieved Alena Langová with a 29-6 deficit in the third against France, the bases loaded and one out. She allowed a RBI single to Léna Sellam but got Rosie Lyard to hit into an inning-ending double play to be the only one of the six Czech hurlers that day who did not allow a run. She came to bat in the bottom of the inning and singled off Oceane Godeau. The game then ended due to the mercy rule. For the Euros, she was 2 for 7 with two walks, a run and two RBI and posted a 9.64 ERA in three pitching appearances. She led the Czech staff in ERA, .18 ahead of Adéla Ondroušková; the team mark was 38.50. She tied Ciska Welboren and Langová for the tourney lead in games pitched and her five whiffs tied Lyard, Famke Gildemacher, Camille Foucher and Denisa Jószová for the lead. Her eight walks issued tied her for second, one behind Langová. [1]
