November 16: Today's featured birthday is that of Hector Fajardo, who turns 54.
- 1963 - The Dodgers complete their sweep of the Yankees in the 1963 World Series with a 2-1 win. Frank Howard homers for the Dodgers.
- 1966 - 20-year-old Jim Palmer becomes the youngest hurler to throw a shutout in a World Series, beating Sandy Koufax in his final game. Willie Davis makes three errors in one inning as the Dodgers drop Game 2 of the 1966 Fall Classic.
- 1985 - Phil Niekro (pictured) wins his 300th game in the major leagues, shutting out the Blue Jays. The 46-year-old also becomes the oldest pitcher to throw a shutout in the big leagues.
- 2005 - Norichika Aoki sets a new Central League record with his 193rd hit of the season.
- 2010 - Roy Halladay throws the second postseason no-hitter ever as the Phillies shut out the Reds, 4-0, in Game 1 of the National League Division Series.
