- 1878 - Providence Grays flyhawk Paul Hines turns perhaps the only unassisted triple play by an outfielder in major league history, but accounts differ on whether or not he was the only player to record a putout on the play.
- 1946 - Johnny Pesky sets a new American League record by scoring six runs in a game.
- 1963 - Stan Musial homers and breaks Babe Ruth's record for extra-base hits in a career, with 1,357.
- 1966 - Frank Robinson hits the first ball to go out of Memorial Stadium; Luis Tiant (pictured) is the pitcher.
- 1994 - The Colorado Silver Bullets become the first professional women's baseball team to play a professional men's baseball team, losing 19-0 to the Northern League All-Stars. Leon Durham homers twice, while the Silver Bullets only collect two hits.
