- 1925 - Veteran outfielder Max Carey becomes the first switch-hitter to hit for the cycle.
- 1961 - Yoshimi Moritaki of the Kokutetsu Swallows throws the seventh perfect game in NPB history, shutting down the Chunichi Dragons.
- 1965 - Jay Dahl dies in a car crash. Just 19 years old, he is the youngest former major leaguer to die.
- 1974 - Ralph Garcia (pictured) of the Hawaii Islanders fans 19 Spokane Indians to set a new Pacific Coast League record.
