- 1957 - Stan Musial plays in his 823rd consecutive game, breaking Gus Suhr's National League record.
- 1959 - Mike McCormick pitches a no-hitter despite allowing a single to Richie Ashburn in the 6th. It does not count as rain wipes the inning off the books, the game being cut short after five official innings.
- 1970 - Dock Ellis (pictured) throws a no-hitter while on LSD. Willie Stargell hits two solo home runs for the offensive support.
- 1997 - The first regular season interleague game in major league history is played. The Giants beat the Rangers, 4-3. Glenallen Hill is the NL's first DH in a regular season contest.
- 2001 - Gary Sheffield becomes the first major leaguer to win three 1-0 games in a year with home runs.
