November 26: Today's featured birthday is that of Sam Militello, who turns 55.
- 1921 - Babe Ruth (pictured) hits his 120th career home run, breaking Gavvy Cravath's mark. However, journalists are unaware that 19th Century slugger Roger Connor actually holds the all-time record with 138.
- 1944 - 15-year-old Joe Nuxhall becomes the youngest player in major league history, walking five and allowing two hits and five runs in two-thirds of an inning.
- 1953 - Eddie Locke of the Amarillo Gold Sox works complete games in both ends of a doubleheader, shutting out the Lubbock Hubbers in the second game. He will pitch two complete games in a day three more times this season.
- 1959 - Rocky Colavito homers four times in a game. The Indians top the Orioles, 11-8.
- 1972 - Hank Aaron hits his 14th grand slam, tying Gil Hodges' National League record. He also passes Willie Mays for second on the all-time home run list as it his 649th.
