- 1900 - Giants 1B Jack Doyle is arrested for punching umpire Bob Emslie during a game.
- 1905 - Ossee Schreckengost catches 28 innings in one day, a major league record. He catches 8 innings in the first game of a doubleheader and 20 in the nightcap.
- 1908 - Hooks Wiltse throws a perfect game for 8 2/3 innings and works the count to 0-2 on George McQuillan when the umpire misses a strike three call; he then accidentally plunks McQuillan on the next pitch.
- 1932 - Buzz Arlett crushes four home runs in an International League game for the second time in a five-week period.
- 1999 - Mike Sweeney (pictured) ties the American League record for consecutive games with an RBI (13), a mark held solely by Taffy Wright for the past 58 years.
