November 25: Today's featured birthday is that of Chico Walker, who turns 67.
- 1915 - Frank "Home Run" Baker announces his retirement after a salary dispute with the Philadelphia Athletics. One year from now, he will become active again when the New York Yankees acquire him in a sale.
- 1924 - Tony Boeckel dies of injuries from an auto accident, becoming the first major league player to suffer a fatality from a car crash.
- 1967 - Red Ruffing is elected to the Hall of Fame.
- 1989 - Orel Hershiser becomes the first player in major league history to get a $3 million yearly contract. The Los Angeles Dodgers hurler had ended the prior season with the longest scoreless inning streak in baseball history.
- 2004 - Alex Rodriguez is traded by the Rangers to the Yankees for Alfonso Soriano and a player to be named later (Joaquin Arias), as the Rangers want to get out from the massive ten-year contract they gave A-Rod before the 2001 season.
