• 1986 - 20-game winner Jack Morris accuses MLB owners of collusion when no one offers him a deal and he is forced to re-sign with Detroit.
• 1990 - Takeshi Yamasaki of the Chunichi Dragons goes into a burning building to save someone's life.
• 1991 - Pam Postema, a former AAA umpire, files a gender discrimination suit against the National League and American League.
