- 1930 - Gene Rye of the Waco Cubs smacks three home runs in one inning, the all-time minor league record. The 5' 6" Rye also drives in a record 8 runs in the frame.
- 1941 - Al Benton drops down two sacrifice hits in one inning, a new major league record.
- 1952 - Satchel Paige shuts out the Tigers in 12 innings to become at age 46 the oldest pitcher in major league history with a shutout.
- 1986 - The Seibu Lions set a NPB record with six home runs in one inning. Going deep are Yoshihiro Nishioka, Kazuhiro Kiyohara, Hiromichi Ishige, George Vukovich, Koji Akiyama and Takuji Ota.
- 1999 - Tony Gwynn (pictured) raps his 3,000th hit and goes 4 for 5 overall in a 12-10 Padres victory.
