November 15: Today's featured birthday is that of Randy Niemann, who turns 69.
- 1910 - Fred Clarke ties the major league record with four outfield assists in one game to help Pittsburgh to a 6-2 victory.
- 1931 - Lefty Grove, trying for an American League-record 17th straight win, loses a 1-0 decision. Jimmy Moore, a backup OF, misplays a fly by Ski Melillo to set up the only run of the game. Grove throws a fit over the absence of regular starter Al Simmons.
- 1936 - Bob Feller makes his first major league start. He fans his first 8 batters and finishes with 15 striekouts, one shy of the American League record.
- 1982 - For the first time in his 20-year career, Gaylord Perry is ejected from a game for doctoring the baseball. Perry had been accused of throwing a spitball for years but had never been caught.
- 2008 - The South Korean national team wins the 2008 Olympics, topping Cuba 3-2 in the Gold Medal game. Hyun-jin Ryu gets the win and Seung-yeop Lee (pictured) hits a two-run homer.
